I got a last second hush, hush call to produce a promotional piece with a tight deadline for the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority. South Lake Tahoe will be the opening stage to the AMGEN Tour of California, the US’ largest cycling event. With only a couple of days to get the locations scouted, heli time acquired and logistics ironed out, I’m really pleased with how smooth the shoot went. The Mayor and crew boated in at 5:30am to the island in Emerald Bay, while I jumped in the chopper at 6:50am to a great sunrise and still lake waters. We flew for about an hour capturing all the aerials. I peeled out of there and headed back to the airport while Chris Stamey shot the Mayors bites on the island. By 10am we were back at the edit station cutting the video. By 5pm we had the piece cut, reviewed, approved and delivered!
…sure was nice that it was only a 20 second spot.
